Dolly Parton said that her dreams for the Smoky Mountains were far beyond what anyone thought possible. She was right in dreaming big. Her idea to create a theme part in this extraordinary region has become a world-class attraction, the Dollywood Theme Park in Pigeon Forge. Now, as the Smokies prepare for the park to open, there are exciting events planned for visitor throughout the year.
Dollywood’s season begins March 22, 2014 after closing in January to prepare for the bigger and better 2014 rides and shows. Though there are new roller coasters and shows, the annual events are still planned for guests to enjoy.
Each year the Dollywood Theme Park in Pigeon Forge creates a world of wonder during the annual Festival of Nations event. The month long cultural celebration runs from March 22 through April 21 and features entertainment, food and fun from around the globe.
There are twelve countries represented through music, dance and food. Dolly stated that Dollywood created a Festival of Nations because as she traveled the world, she wanted to bring some of the world back to her beloved Smoky Mountains, where some might not travel to these exotic places.

Each day, all the visiting performers unite in a color and diverse performance.

From the Andes, this show unites East Tennessee and Ecuador with Incan instruments and contemporary music.
La Danza De Columbia
This colorful Columbian show journeys Dollywood visitors through Columbia’s history.
One of the most unique shows, this moving piano features a world-class pianist with a spinning ballerina on tip.
Strings on Fire
Strings on Fire is located in Craftsmans Valley where Latin American instruments play live polka and tango rhythms.
Filled with Russian folklore, these performers create masterpieces in Rivertown Junction.
Buddy McDonald Trio
Representing Canada, this trio play Celtic folk music near Craftsmans Valley.
Zambian Vocal Group
This group comes from a variety of African tribes, creating a spectacular collective sound.
